Moon Glow - Abstract Machine Appliqué Sassaman Style
This is a quick and easy way to learn Jane’s unique machine appliqué technique. You will learn how to stabilize fabric, layer shapes, remove unwanted bulk and practice raw edge stitching while creating this 18” modern quilt top.
Supply List:
Cotton Fabrics - 7 Fat Quarters colors of your choice - Light to dark
values. Solids or simple prints are best. See photo.
50wt threads = 7 colors (to match each fabric)
ShirTailor Iron-On Interfacing 950F by Pellon - 2 yards
Felt, foam or corrugated cardboard -13” X 13”
Basic Sewing Supplies including:
Embroidery scissors
Quilting scissors
Straight pins
Rotary cutter & board
18” or 24” Quilt Ruler
Roxanne’s Glue Baste-It w/ needle applicator
Fine Micron pen or soft pencil
Sewing Machine with straight and ZigZag stitches
Open toed Machine Foot - #20 BERNINA - NOT a free motion foot
The guild should supply:
Large projection screen
Sturdy table for projector and laptop
2-3 quilt hangers or other safe way to display quilts
2 tables for teachers use
3-5 irons and ironing stations
Electrical cords and extensions, multiple-outlet strip, adaptors, lighting (if necessary)
Plenty of workspace for each student
